From Royal Blessings To The Presentation Of Campaign Buses: Omoluabi Movement’s Visit To The Ooni And The Donation Of 27 Buses To Senator Adeola

In a strong demonstration of respect for Yoruba culture, tradition and the institution of the traditional throne, the then Omoluabi Movement paid a courtesy visit to the Arole Oodua, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ile-Ife, shortly after acquiring campaign buses for the gubernatorial campaign of its principal, Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan Yayi.

The visit was undertaken to seek royal blessings and express profound respect for the revered traditional institution before the buses were deployed for the movement’s activities. The gesture underscored the group’s commitment to the values of unity, culture, respect and collective action in advancing its political and developmental vision.

Shortly after the royal visit, the group transitioned from the Omoluabi Movement to the Yayi Progressives Movement, adopting an identity that more closely reflected the ideology, leadership and vision of its principal.
The movement subsequently held its official inauguration at Ake Palace in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, marking a significant new chapter in its organisational development.

The inauguration demonstrated the movement’s determination to establish a formidable grassroots structure capable of mobilising supporters, promoting the ideals of progress and advancing a shared vision for the future of Ogun State.

Barely a few days after the inauguration, the Yayi Progressives Movement, under its leadership, formally presented 27 campaign buses to Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan Yayi as a practical demonstration of its commitment, loyalty and support.

The presentation of the buses represented more than the provision of campaign vehicles; it symbolised the collective resolve of the movement’s members to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and contribute meaningfully to the political journey and broader aspirations of its principal.

Today, the Yayi Progressives Movement remains committed to promoting grassroots participation, unity, inclusiveness and collective action. The movement calls on supporters and well-meaning citizens who identify with its vision to join hands in building a stronger, more united, progressive and prosperous Ogun State.
